Freak Summer Rains - Succoholic Series #4
Day 6 since POS.
It rained last night. And again today, multiple times.
Our hot, sweaty selves are thankful for it, but my succulents are SO not. They got soaked again. They have a roof over them but the overhang isn't enough to protect them from the spray (salibo). It wasnt even two days since my last watering. :(
I'm officially worried my succulents are slowly rotting inside.
I rearranged them so they are less susceptible to sprays, which gave me a good workout today. I didn't expect it to be, but hauling pots is back-breaking work.
The soil-sand mixture I used doesn't seem to cut it. My "dying one's" pot still isn't dry even though it was the first one we watered, on day 2 (it didn't get rained on). I'm considering re-potting my succulents as soon as I find some pumice, or rice hulls. When I do, I'm going to use smaller pots (maybe 3-4" in diameter). The ones I'm using are just too big: they're very heavy, they take up so much space, and the water they absorb takes too long to dry. I'm hoping the advantages of re-potting will compensate for the damage from my disturbing the succulents again.
My worst-faring succ shed even more leaves. :(
On another note, my seller contacted me about the lacking succulents from my order, and sent me this photo of additional succulents for delivery tomorrow. I'm excited to meet my new babies but anxious about the added responsibility (char).
Today has been a productive day all around. I managed to rearrange the succulents , and rearrange the furnitures in my room. I needed to move my wardrobe so that it covers some of my windows (I have too many, and I was getting too much sun). This resulted in a need to remove all my clothes, move my bed and my table, and replace my clothes. It's been a busy day.
Tomorrow promises to be the same. Wish me luck. :)
